Preface is an HDC ( Halal Development Corporation) initiative. We are a One Stop Global Halal Platform which allows suppliers of Halal Products and Services to publish information about their company, relevant certification, products and product packages to expand their business worldwide. also offers an effective event promotion and marketing strategies to create and deploy marketing and brand awareness for your company.

Event Overview participated in PIHEC 2017 ( Penang International Halal Expo). This event is Hosted and organized by Penang State Government of Malaysia under its halal facilitation agency, Halal Penang, Penang International Halal Expo and Conference (PIHEC) 2017 is an ideal platform and converging point for exhibitors and trade clients across regions of Southeast Asia, West Asia & Europe to promote and market wide array of halal consumable and non-consumable products.

Inaugurated in 2010 with the sole aim of facilitating the sourcing and selling of quality local and international halal consumables, products and services, this annual trade fair serves as a convenient and effective one-stop centre for Halal exporters and importers sourcing out domestic and international products from Northern Malaysia and the IMTT-GT region.

With eHalal exhibiting in PIHEC, it definitely helped to build our brand, generate new leads and also increased our business network. The reasons are:

1. Opportunity to showcase a WIDE RANGE of halal products and services to local and international buyers.

2. EXPAND BUSINESS NETWORK especially in the trading and production of Halal-certified food products.

3. PLATFORM for the interested players in the halal industry to come together.

6. MEET FACE-TO-FACE with leading halal manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, professionals and potential investors.

7. Secure new sales and increase product recognition to expand business in the Southeast Asia region.

8. BUILD personal and direct RELATIONSHIPS with potential halal clients.

Post Activities Report

1) Booth - To recruit suppliers and showcase on services.

eHalal team opened up a booth in PIHEC to recruit suppliers and potential buyers who are interested to market their products and services globally. A total of 9 representatives of worked hand-in hand to reach out to every exhibitors and expo visitors to achieve our main goal which is to recruit suppliers.

2) Business Networking - Meet and greet potential buyers and suppliers from different countries ( eg: Korea, China, US etc)

The main purpose of business networking between eHalal Team and all exhibitors and visitors during PIHEC is to require all the resources, identify unique opportunities and to come out with a focused strategy on efficiently market their products and also to efficiently deliver the specific information about eHalal and its services to the audience. Business Matching Session with International Companies (Japan, Korea, Pakistan, China,USA, Thailand and Indonesia) as a platform for local halal industry players to engage with international companies to further boost bilateral trade and investments in the halal industry.

3) Seminar - Targeted mainly for Small to Medium Business Owners on the Importance of Halal and going Global with eHalal.

Halal Integrity Director and Halal Consultant from, Ustaz Elyas Harun discussed on the role of halal certification bodies, implementation of "Halal Assurance System" for food manufacturing companies, and related consumable industries. Ustaz also talked about major and viral issues in Malaysia and nationwide regarding Halal practices. In the seminar, eHalal services and promotion was presented to the attendees. The seminar was attended by 80 attendees ( 3 days in total) mainly from the food industry sector and had a total of 30 suppliers signing up to

4) Social Media Promotion

As for event promotion, our team executed the promotion with strategic approach, dedicated execution and constant measurement. We provide a few channels for the promotion through our social media. :

- Digital Marketing via Social Media ( Facebook, Instagram, Youtube etc)


In conclusion, PIHEC 2017 brought together the largest gathering of local and international players from Europe and Asia Pacific to trade and network, deliberate issues and share advancements in the halal industry. It has garnered support from 329 organizations from 7 countries and the exhibition attracted 62,162 visitors throughout the 3 day event from both public and international trade delegates from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and UK interested to establish business deals with the local halal industry. As for eHalal, it is a great opportunity to take part in such expo and convention as we get to engage and recruit local suppliers mainly in the northern region of Malaysia. Most of the exhibitors and event attendees are Small to Medium Business Owners thus a platform such as is a great opportunity for these business owners to tap into the Global market.
